Both FDR and Reagan inherited horrible economies that were, in almost all measurable terms, worse that what we’ve currently got, and FAR worse than what Obama complains that he’s inheriting. One of these presidents turned the economy around pretty much within his first year. Under the other president, it turned into the greatest depression in modern history, which lasted another 8 years.

So, which model are our American political leaders adopting now?

In the words of a friend of mine today, “The one that gives them more power.”
