Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps is coming out this summer.

I liked the first movie, a tale of illegal insider trading and market manipulation by the men at the top of the food chain – in particular, Gordon “Greed Is Good” Gekko.

And it’s one of the few Oliver Stone movies that I actually enjoyed.

I’m afraid that the new one may only be trying to capitalize on the populist mob-mentality against Wall Street – led, unfortunately, by our officials in Washington DC (to deflect the amount of blame that should be leveled at them, I guess, for being at least an accomplice in the sins that caused the current recession). So I’m not overly hopeful about the movie. I’ll wait for the reviews. But if actually proves a worthy successor of the original, I’ll be happy.
